Our Club
Port Dinorwic Sailing Club
PDSC has long had the reputation of being a friendly and informal club that welcomes people of all ages who are interested in sailing, whether this takes the form of racing, cruising or just sailing/watersports for fun.
It is a club that particularly welcomes families. The present members are eager to keep up this reputation and new members are soon made to feel at home. The club has a thriving youth section and makes strenuous efforts to encourage young people as well as adults new to the sport.
We own a purpose-built clubhouse (2003) with a dinghy park for over 100 boats and slipway (accessible at all states of the tide). The clubhouse has central heating, double glazing, clubroom, changing rooms (including disabled facilities), showers (hot!), training room, and a galley serving hot food & drinks on sailing days. The club does not have a bar but does hold a licence to sell drinks during social events. There is a pub across the green.
The Straits are strongly tidal and on springs can run up to 3.5 knots in places with a range of 5 metres. It is possible to launch and recover dinghies at all states of the tide.
