Racing

 

PDSC/CHYF provides competitive club racing for a wide range of dinghy classes based on the RYA Portsmouth Yardstick handicaping system.  Racing is scheduled on Saturday afternoons and on Wednesday evenings during the summer months.  We encourage all members to have a go and provide training and friendly advice to those new to racing.

 

To keep things interesting we schedule a variety of different race types including the traditional "around the cans" series, a pursuit series, a sprint series and the long distance Bangor Pier, and Caernarfon races. 

 

The Rawson Cup and Vaynol Cup series are run over a single weekend providing mini events of 4 to 5 races each.

 

There are a number of open races scheduled throughout the season including the Hywel Poole Memorial race, Hornet, Solo and Phantom opens.  Class captains are responsible for proposing and organising these open races. 

 

In the summer we join in with the world's largest sailing race, BART'S BASH scored as an average lap race.

 

We are a volunteer run club and each member may be assigned a Race Officer duty each season.  For more detailed information on the racing program check out the Racing Schedule and keep an eye on your Duty Rota.

Rasio

 

Mae PDSC/CHYF yn darparu rasio clwb cystadleuol ar gyfer amrywiaeth eang o ddosbarthiadau dingis sy’n seiliedig ar y system handicap RYA Portsmouth Yardstick. Trefnir rasio ar brynhawniau Sadwrn ac ar nosweithiau Mercher yn ystod misoedd yr haf. Rydym yn annog pob aelod i roi cynnig arni a darparu hyfforddiant a chyngor cyfeillgar i'r rhai sy'n newydd i rasio.

 

I gadw pethau diddorol yr ydym yn trefnu amrywiaeth o wahanol fathau o râs, yn cynnwys y gyfres traddodiadol "o amgylch y caniau", cyfres drywydd, cyfres sbrint a'r râs pellter hir Pier Bangor, a rasys Caernarfon. 

 

Mae'r gyfres Cwpan Rawson a Chwpan y Faenol yn cael eu cynnal dros benwythnos sengl sy'n darparu digwyddiadau bach o 4 i 5 rasys yr un.

 

Bydd nifer o rasys agored yn cael eu trefnu trwy gydol y tymor, gan gynnwys râs Goffa Hywel Poole a rasys agored Hornet, Solo a Phantom. Y Capteiniaid Dosbarth sy’n gyfrifol am gynnig a threfnu’r rasys agored hyn.

 

 Yn yr haf, rydym yn ymuno â râs hwylio mwyaf y byd, BART'S BASH, sy’n cael ei sgorio fel râs lap ar gyfartaledd.

 

Mae’r clwb yn cael ei redeg gan wirfoddolwyr a gall pob aelod gael ei benodi i ddyletswydd Swyddog Râs bob tymor. I gael gwybodaeth fwy manwl am y rhaglen rasio edrychwch ar yr Atodlen Rasio a cadwch lygad ar eich Rota Dyletswydd.
