Training

As an RYA accredited Training Centre, RYA OnBoard and Pathway Club, PDSC provides RYA certified training and mentoring for all levels from beginner to advanced racer.

Many of our junior and youth sailors have transitioned from being  a novice sailor into regional and national sailing teams and compete alongside their adult counterparts at sailing championships at a national and world level.

Our RYA qualified instructors are all volunteers and support the Club to run its popular and comprehensive training programme.

Volunteering

The club training programme needs help! Volunteers are needed to help with keeping the club boats going as well as some help with the teaching activities both on and off the water. If you can spare some time in one of these capacities, then please contact the  Training Principal .

If you want to help on the water with the teaching, then you should consider joining in with Assistant Instructor Programme…

Assistant Instructor Programme

Open to all, from 12 to 102 years of age and over!  The club invites interested parties to join its Assistant Instructor programme, which can, with a bit of hard work, lead to gaining RYA instructor qualifications, First aid certification etc.

Candidates will need to be able to sail to RYA Level 2 (Adult) / Stage 3 (Youth) standards and have a keen interest in passing on their skills, knowledge and enthusiasm to newcomers to the sport.

This programme will not cost you anything other than time, as by volunteering to help you will obtain credits to exchange for appropriate RYA courses and publications.
