Junior & Youth Sailing

PDSC / CHYF have a vibrant youth and junior section that provides an inclusive, safe, and fun sailing experience. Our goal is to help sailors develop their skills at their own pace, fostering a lifelong passion for sailing. Many of our junior sailors move on to join our club racing and into the Welsh national sailing team programmes. 

Whether your child dreams of becoming a national champion, a dinghy instructor, a race coach, or simply wants to enjoy the outdoors, stay active, and be on the water, we offer the skills and knowledge to help them achieve their goals.  Our Pirates sessions during the summer are an ideal introduction to sailing for younger sailors and as a RYA pathway club we hold various training sessions across the year to develop our junior sailors skills. These sessions provide an ideal opportunity for junior members to make new friendships and feel part of a thriving section within the club.

We recognize that our young sailors are the future of the sport. We encourage them to participate in all aspects of club life, including racing, social activities, committees, and duties. We take great pride in our junior sailors, and they are always warmly welcomed as a valuable part of the PDSC/CHYF sailing community.
